Tolo TV Coverage - North America and Europe PDF Print E-mail

Tolo TV International has launched its broadcast into Europe and North America from 14 May 2008.

 Our European and North American broadcasts will be different in content to our Central Asian broadcasts (which is our Afghan broadcast).

NOTE: Please note that the channel in both North America and Europe has two sound streams. One is English, which is the sound for TOLO TV and the other is German which is the sound of ARMAN FM (so yes, you can actually listen to ARMAN FM through your satellite). So please ensure that you set the language to English if you have sound problems, as in some satellite decoders, the sound will default to German.

Hi all,

Let me make it clear once again THAT Tolo TV network is a cheap network, Tolo can never be like other afghan tv's ARIANA , RTA or PAYA ME AFGHAN. its al two yar that tolo have promesed that they will be international but they still not international.

سلام خدمت کارکنان تلویزیون طلوع! طوری که می دانید تلویزیون طلوع دیگر مهمان خانه های افغانهای مهاجر در اروپا نیست. دوستان زیادی اینجا پیام گذاشته اند و شما مسئولین محترم حتی برای پنج دقیقه هم بخود زحمت نمی دهید تا از همین طریق موضوع را به اطلاع همه بره سانید. آیا این یک مشکل تخنیکی موقت است؟ آیا تلویزیون طلوع به کدام آدرس دیگر می کوچد؟ و یا این که برای همیش نشراتش را در اروپا قطع نموده؟ امیدوارم مسئولین محترم بخود زحمت بدهند و موضوع را به اطلاع همه گان بره سانند.

آقایون محترم ، تخنیکران بارسالت طلوع!!؟ ازیکماه بدینسو تلویزیون طلوه در اروپا پیوسته بدون آواز پخش می گردد. بتاریخ 31 اکتبر آواز نداشت. ساعت هشت و نیم شب آواز بازگشت. امروز اول نومبر از ساعت 11 صبح تا بحال که شش و نیم شام است بازهم آوز قطع شده. اگر حال تلویزیون شما برهمین منوال باشد ترسم که تعدادی زیادی بیننده را ازدست بدهید. امیدوارم که هرچه زودتر این معضله حل شود. باحرمت

Lately i watched your transmission through glwiz.com cuz it is not on hotbird. I noticed you have broadcasting Indian soap operas (dramas) 2 years old in comparasion to what is broadcast in Afghanistan. Almost all your transmission is repeat of 2 years ago.
Why dont you broadcast what you show in Kabul right now?

Hi Richard impasible, nobody got signal with EXPRESAM22 in Europ so you are onlly one who got it? i think its not truht and we are asking not onlly for HOTBIRD and HOTBIRD but also for Eurobird9 or mach more satelits frome erop and we don't see any action from TOLO TV TEAM side.

I don't know what all the fuss is about. Hotbird,Hotbird,Hotbird... I can get TOLO at 70% signal strength using an 80cm dish pointing at Express AM22 @ 53E - NO PROBLEMS AT ALL. I'm just north of London & my sat engineer set up a 2nd dish in 20mins flat. HOTBIRD is full to capacity - simple.

می خواستم از تصمیم مدیران طلوع مبنی بر نشر تکراری برنامه هاپشتیبانی کنم. افغان های که در استرالیا زندگی می کنند نظر به تفاوت زمانی زیادی که بین امریکا و استرالیا وجود دارد قادر نیستند که برنامه ها را در مرحله اول نشر آن تماشا کنند. به این ترتیب تکرار برنامه ها ما را قادر ساخته تا بیشتر برنامه ها را از طریق انترنت در استرالیا تماشا کنیم. البته این نظر در مورد خبر ها صدق نمی کند. با احترام

Thank you all for your feedback.

Initially when we launched Tolo TV we thought it woudl be a good idea to have the ARMAN FM audio in the feed. However, we have since learnt that this has caused considerable confusion with people receiving our signal because for some reason the default sound is from ARMAN and not from TOLO. As a result of all the feedback, we have decided to get rid of ARMAN FM from the feed, so now there is only TOLO TV sound.

On the issue of internet broadcasting, unfortunately we are not responsible for this but another company. We have provided them with information but in any event, after getting rid of the sound of ARMAN FM the internet feed appears to have TOLO sound.

On comments about repetition of our programs, please note that our programs are aimed at markets in Europe, US East and US West coast. As such, we need to have our main peak our shows repeated perhaps 3 times a day. This may seem peculiar or too repetitious for many especially if you are in anther zone. However the intention is to give all those in the three time zones ample opportunity to see our main programs.

We will continue to introduce more programs and entertainment to our mix of content in the coming months.

On the issue of Europe, we are still looking at various optoins and as mentoined before, this may take a number of months to finalise. We apologise in advance for those who are having difficulty in receiving our signal in Europe. We are hoping to be available on Eurobird within the next few months (as Hotbird capacity is unavaialble).

NOT WORKING ON THE WEB.
We can watch tolo tv but not its voice , its voice is replaced by Arman FM Radio.
SOmetimes we cant watch its picture. I dont what happened.
I would like Tolo Admin to solve this propblem.

I am writing this comment from UK specialy EXETER which is located in South West of UK I have been trying loads to get the Tolo TV but we can not it needs a 120CM dish which we are not able or allowed to install in out house or flats in the UK I am writing this comments not just for myslef in fact this writing is at behalf of 200 Afghans living in the Exeter they all want from Tolo management to please come in to Hotbird 13 East we will apprecite your kind.

Salam to everybody!
I am really glad to hear that Tolo TV has launched its broadcast into Europe. It´s a major breakthrough and I really congratulate them on this great matter. First time I learned about it from BBC-persian was 9/6-08, but unfortunately I have not managed yet to recieve it. Our most common satellite provider here in Sweden and Western Europe is HOTBIRD. I read the comments of Tolo TV management and the reason they could not have it on Hotbird is according to them lack of capacity on Hotbird. Hard to believe, but as I have noticed there are lots of sex channels on Hotbird mostly belonging to our Arab muslim brothers e.g. Hot Arab Girl, Sexy Arab, Arab babes, Hot Arab, Arab 69, Arab XXX, Arab Live Sex, ... the list goes on. Now could we/the Tolo Tv managemen ask the Hotbird management to remove some/a few of these sex channels from Hotbird? Hopefully the rest of those channels will do the sex needs of our Arab brothers. I do hope very much that Tolo TV is recievable on the Hotbird very soon.

Dear Tolo TV Admin,
It is true that Russian Satellite provider (Eutelsat SESAT 2/Express) is cheaper however there is no quality. I have contacted most of my friends in EU but none of them has the Eutelsat SESAT 2/Express except those who live under the USSR territories. If you have your TV on Hotbird, it would be superior and considerate for all Afghans reside in EU.

I have been trying to get TOLO on 53E it is not possible I am living in EXETER UK and am not able to take the TOLO I am sure it need 120CM dish which Impossible to get it in falats in the UK our requst is from TOLO TV to come to Hotbird 13E please we need TOLO come on please do not disoppinted us we are feelling lonely ther other channels doesn't have nice programes but TOLO.

thanks for broadcasting. As i have read some comments there seem to be some probs with receiveing your signal. I have read in some german online forums that toloint was seen here with that config:

Due of that lack there is a high posibilty that Express AM 22 will get declared as total lost in the near future by they russian owners. I hope you will change that service in but to that time. The satellite details you have provided don't work here in The UK, even if we adjust our dish location/angle to point to SESAT 2 or EXPRESS AM 22 it wont work, if it's work then we wont be able to watch the existed channels we wanted to have like Ariana and others which is available on Hotbird, so we rather watch tolo and lose all the rest of the channels. to make things easier for everyone then please move your frequencies to Hotbird or Astra 2 so we can have all the channels we want.

For all of those people who have commented, please make sure you advise which city you are in. For all those who have successfully located the satellite in Europe please comment here and tell us which city you are in.

For many people we have contacted in Europe (especially in London), they have inserted the frequency details above into their receiver WITHOUT changing the dish position. Please note that you need to do the following things:

- adjust your dish location/angle first to point to SESAT 2 or EXPRESS AM 22

- adjust your receiver satellite frequency details as above.

For those in London, we have calculated the look angle and azimuth to be as follows based on this website: http://www.hansa-electronic.com/satcalceng.asp

Look Angle: 13.605495799124451 degrees
Azimuth: 120.60230178218678 degrees

Azimuth is angle clockwise from true north. So you will be pointing in a south easterly direction. The look angle is the elevation, which is quite low, so this may be causing problems for people in London, unless you are relatively high or on top of a building. For those in Berlin, Germany this is better at about 20 degrees.

For those who have been asking, the reason we are not on HOTBIRD is because there is currently no capacity available. We will be hoping to relocate on HOTBIRD in the future when capacity becomes available, but for the moment we will have to continue using existing satellite, perhaps as much as for the next 12 months unless capacity becomes available earlier.

TOLO TV is currently not available on the internet, but we are working on this and expect to do this within the next 3 months. Please stay posted on our website for more informatoin in due course.

We currently do not have plans to be in Australasia for the next 12 months due to the high costs.

1.I contacted a satellite engineer who had installed hotbird for us, he told me it is impossible to get 53 Deg East in UK. He said the maximum you can get is 41 Deg East.
Please come to Hotbird.

2. We are tried of Private one-man TVs running from outside Afghanistan. We want Tolo TV to broadcast the content it broacasts inside Afghanistan, though u can chagne the timings and advertisement. But we are thirsty for the content which we had seen back 2 years ago when we had been to Afg.

3. Please try to broadcast live streaming of Tolo TV on the internet as soon as possible, so if we cant get it in satallite we get it in internet.

i am sure, InshaAllah Tolo TV will be at the top and no others would be able to compete with them because Tolo deosnot reflect the ideas or programmes one single person

We in Holland also are not albe to receive TOLO. I think that the frequency is wrong. It is for Asia and not for Europe. But if anyone has got it with the SESAT Satillte, please let us know. But I am sure that until it is not on HOTBIRD, we are not able to receive it. I hope that TOLO management can do something about it.

Is the audio still a problem? We have not received complaints from anyone else. So in English there is no sound but in German there is ARMAN FM? and before this the sound was fine for TOLO?

At the moment, we do not have plans to go to Australia for 2008, but we are hoping to have live TOLO TV on the internet soon which will be accessible in Australia, which will be a free service.
