Jewel in the Palace (Dae J
ang Geum) is one of the most popular Korean serials of Korea, having entertained millions of viewers in Korea, Japan, Iran, Singapore, Thailand and many other countries.
Tolo TV has now obtained the broadcast rights for Jewel in the Palace for Afghanistan.
Jewel in the Palace is set in the late 15th Century and is loosely based on the historical figure depicted in the Annals of Joseon Dynasty. The show focuses on Jang-geum (played by Lee Young Ae), the first female royal physician of the Joseon Dynasty of Korea. The main theme is her perseverance, as well as the portrayal of traditional Korean culture, including Korean royal court cuisine and medicine.
Jewel in the Palace is comprised of 54 episodes.
The serial is fully dubbed into Dari by Aria Production , the leading dubbing organisation in Afghanistan.
